| Las Vegas Tour Rebels Hockey Club |
Parents: The following information is to help all those involved with the Rebels travel program to understand what is needed this season. There are currently two basic tournament organizations that we will play in. The Western Inline Hockey Association (WIHA) which is associated with AAU for their tournaments. There is a onetime fee due to AAU when registering for insurance purposes. The website for registration is: http://www.aausports.org/default.asp?a=pg_membership.htm. You will be able to print a copy for proof of registration, to be presented at the time of check-in for each tournament. I believe you will also receive a card in the mail. Please bring these with you to every event. The WIHA tournaments will all be played in Southern California at various rinks that are associated with that organization. A check for each team entered, that must be received by WIHA by the Sunday prior to the event. The cost of each tournament will be determined and any amount owed by each player MUST BE PAID PRIOR to the event. Some of the teams might also be entered in the North American Roller Championship (NARCh) http://www.narch.com/index.html. The NARCh qualifying tournaments we are planning to participate in are played in Southern California. As with WIHA, I must submit a check for each team entered, that must be received by NARCh by the Sunday prior to the event. The cost of each tournament will be determined and any amount owed by each player MUST BE PAID PRIOR to the event. Both WIHA AND NARCh require a proof of age, in addition to above registration. Because of this, each player may need to present an ORIGINAL copy of their birth certificate to be shown at the check-in. If you have already played at a NARCh final then you are in their data base, but since this is the first year of WIHA, everyone will need to provide this for at least the first tournament. Please bring the birth certificate and be ready to provide it for check-in. Usually the schedule of games for each event is posted by the Wednesday prior to play. Also, USUALLY the game times are based on age level, with the younger teams playing early in the morning and the older teams played latter. When making room arrangements this should be taken into consideration. Hotels requires that you book the rooms the week prior to the event to receive the discounts, but they will also allow for changes and cancellations after the schedule comes out. A limited number of rooms are reserved so it is important to book early. Booking information and directions will be provided to those interested. Check the Travel & Travel & Tournament Info page. Naturally, anyone can book their own accommodations, but it is always nice to stay always nice to stay with friends and teammates. Good behavior representative of the organization and Las Vegas at these hotels is a must. Please be as cooperative providing all the requested items and prompt payments as we will have a large amount of players to keep track. Let’s have a fun and productive year! Larry Sanford |
